scale down

stand up
look around
and then scale that down too

oh i believe in a revolution
i believe it is a hand
i believe in its thick hands
that strenghen daily daily on a man

because see i am a blacksmith
of metal and words
and a sheep that's pitch black too
and lord in this life
that's all we wound up to do

cause 500years ago when
these same trees were more dense
and all this color pristine
so the chaos it made sense
there was no knowing of the loss
of a whole mountain
of that same mountain that i call home

and lord, lord these same trees
they rolled on and on
without mention of vanishing
or with whom to belong
and these same mountains
echoed peace lord
a long time before the noose lord
and now that too is nearly gone

so tell me what have we done a a civilization
to destroy in our way
oh that metaphorical hand that feeds us
ya'll we are trashing our own bithday cake
and i consider myself a sceptic my lord
i'm an optimistic soul
and we all getting thrown around
and dragged along like the bull

he's huge and rageful
and yet somehow subdued
and hauled by those thick rings
so don't you too shut out
nasty sticky thruth things
here we go

get the fuck out of your car
walk it's good for you
stop consuming blindly
and get by on that that you do
have and possess
and scale that down too

it start's there
everybody's got a lot to say
about everybody else
but it's our own transgression
that always tends to melt away
and fade into that critique
of who's faul or who's blame or who's wrong
oh oh no no each and every one of us
we are doing something
that's too hard, or too fast, or too long
and there's nothing but ourselves
to make this thing last

so it starts there
everybody take a long hard look at you
a long long hard look at you
lord it starts there
everybody take a long hard look at you
and you stand up
and you look around
and then you scale that down too
